Statement on DP World Berbera Incident Berbera, Somaliland – 06 September 2019: DP World confirms that an incident occurred at its DP World Berbera container terminal at 16:39 on Thursday, 05 September. A Mobile Harbour Crane caught fire at the terminal. DP World emergency response teams and two fire engines immediately responded to the incident and were able to extinguish the fire. There were no injuries or deaths, or damage to cargo as a result of this incident. The affected crane and the immediate area of the incident has been secured and the location was made safe for all staff to operate. Operations at DP World Berbera are unaffected and continue as usual. The safety of employees and contractors is the priority at all DP World facilities. Therefore, DP World has launched an investigation together with local authorities to establish the cause of this incident and will take appropriate measures to prevent a reoccurrence.
